I made the first cuts with the CNC machine! This was in the form of two lines of holes 50mm apart on the pasteboard. Two things became apparent; One, the holes aren’t 50 mm apart, more like 53mm so I need to go back and check my settings and two, the z-axis sometimes doesn’t lift if driven to0 deep into the waste-board. Further investigation shows that the z-axis motor is turning but the lead-screw is not spinning and an audible squeak is heard. Looking at the motor coupler I can see that the worm-screw again has fallen out! Time for the coupler to go.

First cuts made on the #CNC. Very simple drilling work in the form of prepping some waste board. Ordered a new motor coupler as I still have the non-flexible worm screw type which comes loose after a while. Replacing with a flexible Plumb shock absorber style that should fix vibration issues.
